Typical Day
What a day at Wellesley Nursery looks like
Children are welcomed into nursery with a calm and relaxed start to the day. Breakfast is available for those arriving at 8am.
After registration, we gather for circle time to share stories, sing songs, introduce phonics and enjoy group games that develop communication and listening skills.
Throughout the morning, children enjoy extended periods of play. This allows them to explore their interests while developing creativity, resilience and problem-solving skills.
Children also take part in specialist sessions such as –
- Music
- Swimming
- Games
- Gymnastics
Children enjoy three nutritious meals each day, along with two healthy snacks.
Mealtimes are relaxed and sociable, helping children develop independence and positive eating habits.
Acorns eat lunch within the nursery and Oaks walk up to the main school to experience lunch in the dining hall.
After lunch, children enjoy a quiet rest period with stories and books. Those who need a nap are supported in a calm, comfortable sleep space.
Afternoons offer further opportunities for specialist sessions, creative activities and themed learning experiences.
Outdoor play continues to be an important part of the day, whatever the season.
As the day draws to a close, children gather for a final story or songs together, a calm and happy way to end the day. A light tea is available for those staying later.
